The days of the mega ERP and package implementations are coming to an end and businesses are getting comfortable with consuming applications businesses over the cloud. E.g HRM, Recruitment, Collaboration, emails etc are all moving to the cloud.

Did mainframes die due to Java/.NET?
they made those left in the business of making/maintaining mainframe apps – scarce… and with scarcity comes affluence for the rare!

java and .NET should die. Unproductive lang.
every language has its place. Never should one stick with just one! Development for web (Javascript/node.js), rapid development (rails), firmware and middleware (C++), apps (java) – u got to know about everything – then only you would know about the pros and cons of each language (ur weapon)!
