Predict the probability of getting a confirmed ticket in Indian Railways

Millions of passengers travel every day via the Indian Railways.
Many of them advance book their tickets. Our trains run almost full and many passengers get Waiting list tickets.
There on, passengers are just hopeful that their tickets will be confirmed.
By analyzing the historical data, it is possible to predict the probability of getting a confirmed ticket in a train on a given travel date.
For e.g. if you get a ticket with status: GNWL 50. What are the chances that this ticket will get confirmed by the travel date ?
If this probability can be calculated, then passengers can plan their travel more efficiently.

I already found a site which does it. http://www.trainman.in . It predicts chances of confirmation of both booked and unbooked train ticket.
As, i am a frequent travel, i rely on Online PNR Status. It is the most efficient website i have seen in this category. It’s prediction is 90% accurate.
