Javascript is language.next
16 years ago
From the browser to the cloud, from Comet to Node, Javascript has redefined itself through the years to become the most ubiquitous language platform. I’ll try to make the case for it being the next language platform, with a whirlwind tour of it its history to date from the netscape days to today’s node-powered success, with all the interesting waypoints in between.

Will this session be highly technical or more of a view about the Javascript becoming all pervasive? I would request you to compare a few competing languages to javascript and give some pro’s and con’s of this language. Why is it being used more commonly compared to other languages. Thank You
@Tej,
well, i wasnt planning on in-depth code if that’s what you’re asking. however, there will be some code – to demonstrate some key aspect of the language or technology built using it.
I hadnt planned on comparing it with specific languages either, but definitely intend to compare/contrast the current set of language *features* (and ecosystem) with the JS equivalents – so that I can state the case for why its the next language to take center stage.
Absolutely what I was wanting to join insights on. Interesting stuff, will catch up at the camp. Thank You for quick response.
In case you are intended to compare Python, benchmark with pypy1.7 and cpython.

Will the presentation/demo going to be made be shared online in some form after the camp is over? I am asking for those who are interested but cant make it to the camp.
@ sure. will do.
Will you reference to yui, dojo, jquery in your talk ?
looking forward to a great session
