The last few years have seen a massive jump in the availability of ‘happiness’ resources – Ivy League universities offering courses on happiness, happiness curricula in government schools, state governments even introducing entire departments dedicated to it.
Why is there a sudden need for ‘happiness’? Why is everyone talking about it? What is it that makes us unhappy?
In this session, the speaker will engage the audience in a discussion about ‘happiness’ as a social and cultural trend, what makes us happy, and what is really problematic about being focused on happiness.
