Identity has always played a critical role in our lives, and the digital landscape has introduced new complexities. However, imagine a future where you have complete control over your digital identity, where you determine what information to share, when to share it, and with whom. This concept becomes a reality through the power of decentralized identity (DID).

During this session, I will provide a concise overview of identity, focusing particularly on its evolution in the digital realm. We will delve into the challenges posed by traditional identity systems that heavily rely on central authorities, highlighting the need for a more secure and user-centric approach.

We will provide a brief overview of identity in general, with a particular focus on identity on the Internet. We will explore how emerging web standards, such as Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable credentials (VCs), coupled with the essence of blockchain technology, are transforming the way individuals can securely share their credentials without relying on central authorities.

Towards the end of the session, I will conduct an exciting live demonstration, showcasing the practical applications of tools and technologies developed by our team at Hypersign.Id. These solutions leverage the concepts of Decentralized Identifiers (DID) and Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), empowering individuals to take control of their digital identities.

Note: I highly encourage participants to bring their laptops. This will allow you to have a hands-on experience and actively participate in the live demonstration of tools and technologies that leverage Decentralized Identifiers (DID) and Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) concepts.
